Javea Arenal Beach
Arenal Beach, Javea
Praised by the World Health Organisation for being near perfect, Javea's blue-flag Arenal Beach lies at the southerly end of the town and is a pleasant sea-front stroll from Javea Port.
This man-made sandy beach enjoys crystal-clear waters and a bustling craft market during summer evenings. Adjoining the beach is a wide, pedestrian-only promenade where there are dozens of bars, cafes and restaurants all with stunning beach and sea views.
The soft sand slopes very gently into the sea, making it an ideal introduction to sea-swimming / bathing (there's lifeguard supervision and a Red Cross facility too). For the more adventurous, there's a dving platform 100 metres into the sea and at both ends of the Bay, excellent opportunities for snorkeling by the rocks.
A man-made canal meanders from the Cabo La Nao road into the sea. Diving boats can be seen all your round while in the summer jet-skis and speed-boat hire are provided at the beach end on the easterly side of the bridge.
Beach Cinema
During Thursday evenings throughout July and August, Javea Council sponsors an open-air cinema with giant screen (although films are usually shown in Spanish). Many families bring chairs and picnics and watch the films (which usually start around 10pm) under the stars.
Romain Remains
At the north end of the Bay, across the boat canal is the Parador de Javea. Explore carefully around the rocky outcrop surrounding the Parador and you might just see Roman remains as the Parador was reportedly built on the site of a villa owned by the Roman Coastal Commander for their entire Empire! This shouldn't be confused with what appears to be a 'hidden' Villa, which dates to Franco's time in power.
Sunsets
At the southern end of the Arenal Beach, you can witness some of the most spectacular and vividly coloured sunsets from Spring throughout the summer months with the sun disappearing behind the Montgo mountain which seperates Javea and Denia.
Our Javea Villa Rental is about 1,300 metres from the Arenal Beach.
